Angola Black, polished

Angola Black is a volcanically formed dark grey or black anorthosite, whose deposits are located in present-day Africa, specifically Angola.

The history of the creation of Angola Black igneous rock dates back to the Precambrian era, and its characteristic coarse-grained structure results from the fact that the mineral grains have had enough time to grow to a noticeable size during the millennia of solidification deep in the earth’s crust.

Angola Black is a suitable stone for kitchen and bathroom countertops, as well as for covering floors and stairs.

Interesting fact:

Anorthosite found on Earth is also the most common rock on the Moon, for example.

The lunar highlands consist mainly of anorthosite, while the “seas” are basalt.
